Building a community of conservation advocates: Urban greenspace management at Buffalo Bayou Park

Program Presenter: Dr. Gabriela Sosa

Dr. Gabriela Sosa is a restoration ecologist leading projects that assist
in the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded, damaged, or
destroyed. Dr. Sosa is the Conservation Manager at Buffalo Bayou Partnership in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining this non-profit, she assisted with completing natural resource assessments for federal agencies in the United States and for large-scale restoration projects in Southeast Asia and South America. Dr. Sosa serves
on the Chair of the Stream Corridor Restoration Committee for the Bayou Preservation Association and as an Advisor to the Natural Resources Advisory Committee at the Houston Galveston Area Council (H-GAC). She earned a PhD in Ecosystem Science and Management from Texas A&M University-College Station. Her hobbies include birding and snorkeling.

  • Bring a plant for show & tell
  • Just come and hang out!
