Join us this Saturday, May 2, for the annual Bromeliad Society Houston’s ABC’s.
This event is where members get together to learn and try something new and share our knowledge and love of bromeliads. This is a favorite activity of many members.
Activities start at 10:00 am with a presentation by the Mercer staff about the facility and programs there. Please be there a few minutes early to have time to get in and sit down to allow them to start on time.
After that, there will be a tour of the facility including the private greenhouses followed by lunch. Brisket will be provided for lunch. Please bring a side dish to go with the brisket.
After lunch, Mitch Fontenot will lead a workshop on mounting various bromeliads on wood. During the workshop you will have the opportunity to mount your plant.
If you have a special plant you would like to have mounted, bring it. If you have a piece of wood that you especially like bring it too. If, however, you don’t, plants will be supplied as well as the wood for mounting.
A fun time is planned so put it on your calendar and don’t forget!
