On Thursday, September 1, more than 40 second-year Ph.D. students and their mentors were honored at a ceremony held in Onstead Auditorium. During the event, Gary Gallick, Ph.D., was recognized as the 2015-2016 recipient of the Paul E. Darlington Mentor Award for University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Faculty.

Gary was also honored at a BS/H meeting where Jimmy Woolsey informed him that Dennis Cathcart and Tropiflora was naming a Neoregelia after him, Neoregelia ‘Gary Gallick’. The plant is a beautiful, variegated hybrid made by Ray Coleman.
